| Objective: To study the feasibility and effect of enteralnutrition in preoperative bowel preparation for the senile patients. Methods: 30 senile ptients with colorectal cancer were randomized into 2 groups. The eligible cases must be:â‘ the senile patients with colorectal cancer;â‘¡it should be a pathological diagnose and a radical excision;â‘¢the patients at the age of 60-80;â‘£the patients have the normal liver and kidney function. And the exclusion criteria:â‘ preoperative patients with gastrointestinal obstruction;â‘¡the patients with athrepsia need TNP;â‘¢the patients need chemotherapy or radiotherapy in preoperative or postoperative 7 days . 15 patients in the experimentalgroup (entealnutrition group) were applied with Nutrison Fibre as a kind of liquid diet in preoperative bowel prepration. 15 patients in the contgroup(traditional therapy group) made the bowel preparation by the traditional method of semiliquid-luid-fasting. Then we record the times of enama the evening before operation, the satisfaction of colon cleaning, recovery time of passing flatus. Parameters including hemoglob (Hb), lymphocyte count (LY), plasma totalprotein(TP), serum albumin (ALB), prealbumin (PA) we measured and compared before bowel preparation (3th day before operation) and on first day postoperation. Results: There was no statistical difference in the two groups about the satisfation of bowel cleaning. In the experimental group, the time of enema fewer(P<0. 05), and the recovery time of passing flatus was faster (P<0. 05). There was no statistical difference in the two groups about LY. There was statistical difference in two groups about Hb and PA in the postoperative first day (P<0.01), we can see experimental group is higher than the control group. And in the control group these two index of postoperation is lower than the before (P<0.01). There was statistical difference in two groups about TP and ALB in the postoperative first day (P<0.05), we can see experimental group is higher than the control group. And in the control group these two index of postoperation is lower than the before (P<0.01)Conclusion: The senile patients with the colorectal carcinoma always have the bad nutrition condition. But enteral nutrition could be applied to the preoperative bowel preparation and could promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function, ameliorate nutritional status and cell immune function and reduce to ccurrence of adverse reaction and complication. |
