Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effect of acupuncture of Foot Motor Sensory Area(FMSA) and acu-point of Sibai(ST2) in the treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis(KOA);and try to prove this set of acupuncture treatment's scientific significance.Particularly, this method can rapidly improve the exact function of the knee in a short period of time. Methods:Sixty cases of KOA which have been processed by body exam and the combination of clinical imaging examination confirmed the disease were randomly divided into three groups, treatment group, acupuncture control group, and drug control group. In treatment group,FMSA and Sibai(ST2) were selected and for acupuncture control group,Dubi(ST35), Neixiyan(EX-LE4),Waixiyan(EX-LE5),Yinlingquan(SP9) and Yanglingquan(GB34) were chosen.Patients in the drug control group received Terbutaline orally. All patients were evaluated by Japan Orthopedic Association(JOA) knee score scale and knee pain, swelling, such as assessment of the score obtained as indicators of efficacy observed before and after the treatment. Results:The total effective rate of treatment group was 95%,and it is higher than other control groups.According to X2 test, the difference between treatment group and acupuncture control group or drug control group was remarkably significant in statistic results at the different treatment time of lhr,24hr and 15 days. Conclusions:The set of FMSA and Sibai acupuncture therapy in the treatment of KOA can significantly improve in the scope of activities and relieve joint pain in a rapid period. It is a promoted and simple acupuncture method and provides a factual basis on clinical application of traditional Chinese medicine identified by the theory of modern governance and the combination of neural anatomy to guide the treatment of other joint diseases.
