ObjectiveAlzheimer's disease(AD) as an unknown progressive and degenerative disease is most common form of dementia.Tognoni etc survey results about the people of 65 years of age or older found that its prevalence was 4.2%,but over the same period the people of dementia's prevalence was 6.3%.AD is a Implicit onset onslaught disease,early this disease is not easy to find.Moreover presently no biological markers as diagnostic criteria are established before the symptoms are shown.So AD is diagnosis difficult in early period.AD is characterised by senile pulaqe and neurofibrillary tangles.The most noticeable deficit is memory loss,which shows as an obvious difficulty to remember recently learned facts and an inability to acquire new information.For the past few years,with the development of neuroimaging hippocampus atrophy has been one of main neuropathological features and a lot of literatures that using MRI to diagnose AD are reported.At present the conclusions of a more consistent:Hippocampal atrophy is a sensitive indicator of the AD.This study attempted to Haima Jia aspects of the dentate gyrus,discussion of AD non-AD dementia patients and normal hippocampal volume in the relationship between the diagnosis for AD provide an objective basis for.Materials and MethodsIn the study the aged people over 60 who visited Liaoning Province jinqiu hospital from June 2007 to September 2008,open-sex were divided healthy group,through MMSE scale test score(mini-mental state examination),MMSE scale<24points is mental retardation,MMSE scale>24points isIntelligent normal,Screening to dementia and normal elderly group two experimental groups,One group will be the elderly dementia through again whether the DSM-Ⅳ-R(4th edition of the American Psychiatric Association mental disorder diagnosis and Statistical Manual) diagnostic criteria manual,Selected group of Alzheimer's disease and non-dementia of Alzheimer's disease group,In line with DSM-Ⅳ-R(4th edition of the American Psychiatric Association mental disorder diagnosis and Statistical Manual) manual diagnostic criteria of the elderly,Alzheimer's disease as a group,do not meet DSM-Ⅳ-R(fourth edition of the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of obstacles) manual diagnostic criteria of the elderly,as a group of non-Alzheimer's Disease;This experimental group were normal again and the elderly group compared the volume of the hippocampus。Three elderly people in this group were the first MRI to measure the volume of the hippocampus,Because the hippocampus and nearby dentate gyrus of the boundaries more difficult,hippocampal volume measurement in fact in this Part 2。First made in the first MRI sagittal T1 sequences,and then do T2 sequence of the coronavirus perpendicular to the hippocampus and dentate gyrus scanning,through the coronal scan,in the coronal images drawn on every level of the hippocampus and dentate gyrus area at all levels will receive the size of the hippocampus and dentate gyrus,multiplied by the thickness by the size of the hippocampus and dentate gyrus at all levels,all levels of the size of the hippocampus that is the sum of integrity by the size of the hippocampus and dentate gyrus,With everyone from the size of the hippocampus and dentate gyrus in addition to its intracranial volume by the ratio,with a correction after the hippocampus and dentate gyrus volume,this correction after the hippocampal volume of data,the next step of the statistical analysis,SPSSV13.0 package with data processing,statistical analysis,P<0.05 for a significant difference,P<0.001 for a very significant difference,P>0.05 was no significant difference。ResultsAlzheimer's disease group and the normal group of older persons between the hippocampus and dentate gyrus volume comparison:the group of Alzheimer's disease hippocampus and dentate gyrus volume was smaller than the normal group(P<0.05); Non-dementia of Alzheimer's disease group and the normal group of older persons between the hippocampus and dentate gyrus volume comparison:the non-dementia of Alzheimer's disease hippocampus and dentate gyrus volume were compared with the normal group was not significant(P>0.05)。ConclusionIn the group of Alzheimer's disease patients,the size of the hippocampus and dentate gyrus significantly reduced,and the group was smaller than normal volume of the hippocampus and dentate gyrus;Non-Alzheimer's disease patients with dementia in the group despite shrinking volume of the hippocampus and dentate gyrus,but the group with normal hippocampal and dentate gyrus volume without significant changes.
