Clinical Observation On The Curative Effect Of Miuci On Lubar Intervertebral Disc Protrusion

Background:Lubar intervertebral disc protrusion as one of common clinical frequently-occurring diseases is the most common causes of low back pain,which caused a tremendous physical and mental suffering for patients and a huge medical expenses burden for the society and individual.Acupuncture treatment to lubar intervertebral disc protrusion is an important method,and accumulated rich experience.While Miuci as a therapy of acupuncture,clinical reports are still rare.Purpose:To explore the curative effect of Miuci on lubar intervertebral disc protrusion by randomized controlled study,so as to provide a clinical new therapy.Methods:60 patients with lubar intervertebral disc protrusion were randomly divided into two groups.The treatment group,30 cases,treated with Miuci; and the control group,30 cases,treated with routine acupuncture.The treatment was given 5 times per week for two groups,and 10 times as a therapeutic course.After 2 therapeutic courses,clinical symptoms,signs, VAS and pain points condition of patients were observed.Results:After 2 therapeutic courses,symptoms and signs of two groups patients were significantly relieved.The decrease of scores of VAS and the lumbago scoring proposed by Fairbank after treatment in two groups presented good effect on alleviating lumbar pain,and the treatment group were better than the control group.The total effect analysis of the two groups showed that:in the control group,three of clinically cured,markedly effective in 6 cases,10 cases improved,and 11 were invalid,the total effective rate 63.33%; in the treatment group,six cases of clinical cure,markedly effective in 14 cases,6 cases improved,and four were invalid,the total effective rate 86.67%. By Ridit analysis,P＜0.01,the therapeutic effect in the treatment group was significantly superior to the control group.Conclusion:Miuci can significantly improve the symptoms,signs and functional status,alleviate back pain of patients with lubar intervertebral disc protrusion,and the therapeutic effect of it was better than routine acupuncture.
