The Curative Effect Observation And Cost-benefit Analysis Of Curing Simple Obesity By Catgut Embedding

Simple obesity is a morbid condition results from more calorie intake than calorie consumption,surplus calorie store in the body and predispose to obesity,without obvious nervous and endocrine problems.Simple obesity is a chronic ailment which do harm to the people health,it not only reduce the quality of life of patient,but also the vital risk factor of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease,respiratory disease and social psychological problem. Traditional Chinese Medicine has a lot of discussions and researches to obesity from name,pathogenesis,treatment,etc.Although the mechanism of obesity is not clear yet,modern medicine has comprehensive understanding to obesity from name,epidemiology,pathogenesis and pathophysiology.At present,the methods of weight loss are drug therapy,surgery therapy and acupuncture therapy.There are many acupuncture treatment ways to obesity with reliable effect.It not only can help patients break away from problems of obesity,but also can help patients avoid toxic reactions bring by drug use.Objective:To treat simple obesity patients by two therapy of buring chords (therapeutic group)and acupuncture curing(control group),we shall analyze and contrast by curative effect,obesity index of prior treatment of the two groups,from clinic curative effect,also evaluate the economic benefit by cost effect analysis.Method:According to diagnostic codes and staging standards,we shall select the patients consistent with standards in hospital room of The First Hospital affiliated Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine in the periods of June,2008 to May,2009.In accordance with the principle of randomized controlled,we divide the patients into two groups:therapeutic group in that there are 30 patients and control group in that there are 30 patients.We select Tianshu,Zhongwang,Guangyuan,Zusanli,Weishu,Ashixuepoint;Daheng,Qihai,Shui fen,Fenglong,Dachangshu,Ashixuepoint,a group per time,one time per week,four weeks as a course,eight weeks as a total of two course.Control group applies acupuncture curing,choosing the same piont.Three times per week,four weeks as a course,eight weeks as a total of two course.Results:1.The two groups both have better manifestation about curative effect and pulmonary function indicatrix.Compared the clinic curative effect of point Buring chords with acupuncture curing,the curative effect of therapeutic group,the all efficients is 90%,the control group is 86.67%; Both group have no significance difference through statistical analysis (P＞0.05);In comparison with the therapeutic group and the control group by obesity index(P＞0.05),content of blood fat(P＞0.05),score of obesity symtom(P＞0.05).The result point out the therapeutic group is correspond to the control group in total effect.2.The cost effect analysis means that the therapeutic group direct iatric cost is 27032yuan,the average cost is 901.07yuan,the control group direct iatric cost is 85852yuan,the average cost is 2861.73yuan.The average cost of therapeutic group is lower than the control group 1960.66yuan,which means the therapeutic group have better effects on economic benefit.Conclusion:Catgut embedding is a combined therapy which centralize multiple effect.It has significant effect in treating simple obesity with low cost and fine economic benefit.It is worth to generalize and apply as treatment method.
