It's called simple obesity if there are no obvious pathogeny of incretion and/or metabolic disorder to track. Obesity is the pothogenesy base of many ailments and pain syndrome, such as Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus,coronary heart disease,hypertension,hyperlipoidemia,cholelithiasis and arthritis, which might increase the incidence of the diseases or even aggravate the diseases. Because of its safity, needle therapy for obesity are accepted by considerable clinical staff and sufferers. However, the treatment periods requried by the needle therapy are longer and the treatmen frequency are higher, which decrease the sufferers' obedience and affect the final treatment effects.the acupoint catgut embedding is a improvement to the traditional needle therapy. It can yield moderate and perennial effects to the acupoints, to fetch up the defects that the times of filiform needle needling-treatment are many, effective time are short and treatment effects are not stable, increase the compliance of the sufferers and consequently increasing the treatment effects.For its obvious advantages, the acupoint catgut embedding are applied by sustaintive clincial staff in the treatments for obesity and the ralative reports are increasing. Concluding the literatures publiced in the recent years, we find that the quality of the literatures are uneven. In order to search for the comfirmation basis of acupoint needle catgut embedding to treat obesity, we need to use the modern reseach methods to scientificly and systemically assess and analyze the relative literatures to obtain the more crediable conclusions. Through several Chinese or English medical retrieval data-base, the project obtains the clinic literature about the acupoint catgut embedding treatment for obesity, filter the literatures according to the established brought-into and excluding standard, assess the literatures'quality, and then analyze the data with the ralative softwares to explore the validity of the acupoint catgut embedding therapy for simple obesity.PurposeUsing the Mata analysis to carry out the systematic, quantative and comprehensive analysis of several independent researches of the project of the acupoint catgut embedding treatment for obesity, to assese the validity of the acupoint catgut embedding treatment for simple obesity, which would provide the objective comfirmation evidence for the treatment for simple obesity, optimize the clinic decision-making and augment the improvement of the medical quality.MethodsAfter the artificial filter and data acquisition, according to the Jadad scoring scale, we carried out the quality accessments of the literatures, and finally use the RevMan software to carry out analysis to the data.Results:1 The literatures'quality are lower.61 are retrival retrieve in all. there are only 18 left after the filter with estabilished brought-into and excluding standard. According to the Jadad quality assess stardard, the scores of the literatures' qualities are between 0-3, belonging to low quality literature, where 2 score 0 points,1 are 1 points,13 are 2 points and 2 score 3 points.2 Excluding the 3 literatures which had not been hidden arbitrarily and 1 literature which had incomplete data, we carried out the meta-analysis to the left literatures. The left literatures's seperate results all showes that the difference between the acupoint catgut embedding group and the none acupoint catgut embedding one has no statistical significance, while the most result prompts that the treatment effect of the acupoint catgut embedding for simple obesity excel the counterpart after the meta-analysis. And the difference between them has statistical significance.3 In the single clinic research, for the samples are smaller, it's easy to obtain false nagative. Through the systematical assessment or the meta-analysis to integate the multiple independent clinical experiments, the conclusion might opposed to the ones of the single experiment. Since the none acupoint catgut embedding groups all choose basic medication or needling treatment verifid to be valid through systematical assessment as the therapeutic tool, the analysis results show excellent agreement with the validity of the acupoint catgut embedding therapy for simple obesity. However all the literatures include low quality literature, which decreases the credibility of the results.ConclusionAcupoint catgut embedding is a safe and effective therapy for treating the obesity. Though resently there exit some low quality literatures that decrease the credibility of the results, the existing evidences show that the acupoint catgut embedding therapy has obvious treatment effect and benefit the sufferers and is worthwhile to prompt.
