Study Of The Status And Influencing Factors In HIV-infected Sex Workers Follow-up In Six Counties (Cities) In Yunnan Province

Objective By understanding the status of the follow-up in sex workers infected with HIV,and their knowledge,attitudes,behavior,views about the follow-up, psychological situation,family and social relations,personal needs,in the six counties(cities) in Yunnan Province,to explore the relevant factors that affect the follow-up in sex workers infected with HIV and provide information for the staffs of Control Disease Center(CDC),so as to let more sex workers infected with HIV take part in the follow-up.Methods Collect,regulate,analyse relative literature about the follow-up of sex workers infected with HIV.Take personnal-depth interviews with different visit persons by using qualitative interview syllabus designed by the researchers.Results The survey in the Kaiyuan City,Gejiu City,Ruili City,Yingjiang County, Yongping County,Longchuan County,and personnal-depth interviews with 12 follow-up managers,8 follow-up staffs and 30 sex workers infected with HIV.Main factors which influent the follow-up of sex workers infected with HIV is:1.sex workers infected with HIV have a strong mobility 2.the social environment.(1) sex workers fear exposed to their privacy:they will be lost the guests after exposure,thus directly affecting their income.(2) Sex workers infected with HIV are marginalized groups,if they would be exposed,they will be discriminated;3.knowledge and attitude of sex workers infected with HIV(1) They do not know follow-up policys and do not know the specific content as well as the benefits to them;(2) Lack of understanding of AIDS:the risk awareness of AIDS,including the weak and the wrong understanding of AIDS;4.Staff's responsibility,attitude and manner;5.The psychological stress of sex workers infected with HIV come from several aspects.Suggestion Through the research,we suggest:To develop and promote peer education in sex workers infected with HIV;Pay more attention to basic medical and living needs of sex workers infected with HIV;To strengthen propaganda about follow-up policy of person infected with HIV;Pay attention to the quality and levels of work of follow-up staffs.So as to fundamentally improve the follow-up and management for sex workers infected with HIV.
