Background and Aims:It has been noted that gallstones are common in Patients suffering from liver crirhosis. However, the risk factors of cirrhosis with gallstones are not clear now. Through retrospectively analysis of 395 cases of patients with liver cirrhosis,to explore the risk factors for gallstones as a complication and provide the evidence for the prevention and clinical treatment for the liver cirrhosis with gallstones.Methods:395 cases of patients with liver cirrhosis were enrolled in our hospital from Jan. 2000~Dec.2008 years by retrospectively analysed and were divided into two groups, the one group as the liver cirrhosis with gallstones and the other as without gallstones. The following factors such as sex, age, cause of cirrhosis,Child-Pugh,portal hypertension, splenomegaly,HbeAg,aspartate aminotransferase(AST), r-glutamyltranspeptidase enzyme(r-GT),serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT), alkaline phosphatase(ALP),serum albumin(ALB),total bilirubin(TBIL),direct bilirubin(DBIL),indirect bilirubin(IBIL),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG), total bile acid(TBA) were collected.Comparison of count data was used chi-square test and measurement data used two-sample mean t test or rank sum test.Analysis of risk factors was selected Logistic regression.Results:1.The overall prevalence of gallstones is 29.9%in the patienis with liver crirrhotic, which was hgiher than that in the simple gallstones of general population (5.7%,p=0.000<0.05);2.Univariate analysis was shown that significant differences between the groups of liver cirrhosis with gallstone and the control group with regard to age, serum AST,r-GT,ALP,TBIL,DBIL,IBIL,TBA,ALB,TC,Child-Pugh class(p<0.05).3.It was suggested that the age,ALB,DBIL,Child-Pugh class were significant independent factors for the liver cirrhosis with gallstone by logistic regression analysis.Conclusions:1.The age, lower serum albumin, higher Direct bilirubin and Child-Pugh class were independent factors of high rates for patient liver cirrhosis with gallstone.2.The sex, causes of cirrhosis, portal hypertension,Hypersplenism and HBV weren't related with the risk factors of liver cirrhosis with gallstone.3.It could debase and prevent the incidence of the liver cirrohosis with gallstone through improve the liver function and control the low albumin and arrest the high bilirubin especially for the patients over 50 age.
