Development Of Early Accidental Trauma Psychological Nurse-administered Rating Scale And Its Norm

Objective: This study is a part of"Study on Psychological Rehabilitation Model of Disabilities Caused by Trauma or War"The aim of this study is to develop psychological Nurse-administered Rating Scale of the early accidental trauma, and explore the related influential factors on patients'mental status in order to suggest some effective strategies. The local ideal norm in shanghai and the cut-off scores of abnormal mental status were established based on the average outcomes of all subjects,which were used to screen out the patients in abnormal mental status of early accidentaltrauma patients and to provide reliable basis for further mental intervention. And provide a basis for the construct of "early accidental trauma psychological rehabilitation model of disabilities, Submit a better applicable research tool for the ideal goal of"reduced the burden of individual, family and the society due to early physical and mental disabilities caused by severe injuries".Methods: On the basis of literature review and clinical observation, the initial psychological Rating Scale of the early accidental trauma was developed. Then it was optimized by Delphi Method and preliminary test. The Rating Scale consists of 3 domains and 18 items. In total, more than 300 early accidental trauma patients from 5 hospitals of Shanghai were involved in this survey. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS 13.0 statistical software to reevaluate the reliability and validity of the Rating Scale, analysis the related influential factors on patients'mental status as well as established local ideal norm in shanghai.Results: The study first deveoped psychological Nurse-administered Rating Scale of the early accidental trauma which was composed of 3 domains including anxiety, depression and withdrawal behavior. And the reliability and validity was confirmed. The results showed that the patients'mental status were influnced by various factors, which are sex,wheather live in ICU, the reason to get hurt .etc. The preliminary ideal local norm in shanghai and the cut-off scores of abnormal, status was established.They can be used to screen out the patients in abnormal mental status who need to be given special intervention and to raise the efficiency of the mental health care.Conclusion: The development of psychological Rating Scale of the early accidental trauma and the ideal norm provide an effective assessment tool for the first-line clinical health care workers.
