Clinical Trial On Acupuncture Therapy With The Method That Regulated And Tonified Ren And Du Meridians For Uroclepsia After Stroke

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture therapy with the method that regulated and tonified Ren and Du meridians for patients who suffered uroclepsia after stroke.Methods60 patients meeting the inclusion criteria in the Encephalopathy Center of The Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM were randomly assigned to the control group(primary care,30 patients) and the treatment group(primary care + acupuncture therapy with the method that regulated and tonified Ren and Du meridians,30 patients).Referring to the clinical pathway for stroke of the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Department in Guangdong Hospital of TCM,we needled dual vasomotor region, dual Taichong,dual Hegu,dual Fengchi,and Jianyu,Chize,Biguan,Qiuxu at the affected side of the patients' body as the primary care,which only aimed at the primary affection and the limbs paralyzed;for the method that regulated and tonified Ren and Du meridians,we needled Baihui, Mingmenm,Zhongji and used Qihai and Guanyuan with moxibusting as well. The therapeutic schedule for both groups:once a day,continuously 6 times then 1 day rest,totally 3 weeks as a course of treatment.We evaluated the efficacy by therapeutic level and symptom evaluation before and after the therapy.ResultsBefore the therapy,we compared the general information of the two groups:gender with Chi-Square,P=0.788＞0.05;compare the stoke classes of the two groups,P=0.172＞0.05;compare the stoke stages of the two groups,P=0.961＞0.05;analyzed with t test,age:P=0.841＞0.05;course of disease,P=0.899＞0.05;scores of the symptom evaluation,P＞0.05,scores of the therapeutic level,P=0.530＞0.05.This suggested that the general information of the two groups was statistically significant,and comparative.After the treatment,we compared the two groups:the scores of the symptom evaluation with t test,P＜0.05;the scores of the therapeutic level with Ridit analysis,P=0.032＜0.05.This showed that the scores of both the symptom evaluation and the therapeutic level for the treatment group was lower than that for the control group,which was statistically significant.We compared each group before and after the treatment:the scores of both the symptom evaluation and the therapeutic level for the treatment groups,P＜0.05.This indicated that after the treatment both the scores of the symptom evaluation and the scores of the therapeutic level for the two groups were statistically significant.We compared the clinical efficacy after the treatment:the treatment group:8 cured,16 effective,5 noneffective;the control group:4 cured,9 effective,16 useless.We compared the two groups with Ridit analysis, P=0.006＜0.01,and this indicated that the efficacy of the treatment group was better than that of the control group.ConclusionsAfter the treatment,comparing with the therapeutic level and the symptom evaluation and clinical efficacy,we found the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P＜0.05).This meant that the efficacy of the treatment group was better than that of the control group. To sum up,acupuncture therapy with the method that regulated and tonified Ren and Du meridians was effective,therapy for uroclepsia after stroke.It is worthy to spread in clinic.
