A Clinical Observation On Treating Rheumatoid Arthritis By Bo's Abdominal Acupuncture

[Objective]To observe the clinical effects of treating rheumatoid arthritis with the "Drawing Qi back to the origin" formula in conjunction with the "up and down rheumatoid needling points" from Bo's abdominal acupuncture method.[Method]Thirty cases of rheumatoid arthritis were randomly selected from outpatient.All subjects were treated with the "Drawing Qi back to the origin" formula in conjunction with the "up and down rheumatoid needling points" from Bo's abdominal acupuncture method.Treatments were administered once another day for 4 weeks.Observations including effectiveness of symptomatic relief and untoward side effects were made and recorded.Morning stiffness duration/sworn joints number/tender joints number/grip/pain level were also evaluated as index set to be observed.All results were calculated and processed with statistic software SPSS 10.0 for windows.[Result]Twenty-five cases got effect among 30 rheumatoid arthritis cases.The total efficacy rate is 83.33%.The assessment of SPSS showed an obvious difference between before and after treatments by the scores of Morning stiffness duration/ sworn joints number/tender joints number/grip/pain lever(P＜0.01 or P＜0.05). There is not any special uncomfortable recording during the observation period. [Conclusion]Bo's "Drawing Qi back to the origin" abdominal acupuncture method with "up and down rheumatoid needling points" can alleviate the clinical symptom caused by rheumatoid arthritis and promote the clinical recovery.
