Objective:To observe the clinical therapeutic effects of Acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis.Method:To observe the clinical therapeutic effects of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in the treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis this study examined 56 cases, of the total 56 patients selected for the research,28 patients were receiving acupuncture treatment combined with selected western medicine and 28 patients were receiving western medicine only. The patients receiving acupuncture and selected western medicine were categorized as the treatment group and the others as the control group. The patients were monitored throughout the research period and their progress systematically recorded and charted. Laboratory investigations on the rheumatoid factors of patients before and after treatment were recorded. The parameters of rheumatoid arthritis, such as tender joint count, swollen joint count, and morning stiffness duration, recorded before and after treatment and there was a significant difference.All patients in the treatment group received acupuncture treatment, selecting points, with dialectical method of combining and staging. The main acupoints were:Dazhui, Geshu, Zusanli, pishu, guangyuan, and shenshu along with Local acupoints were selected. Reference points for each choice of 6 to 7 points, regular Point routine was preformed, disinfection of skin, using 75% alcohol. Drive 0.30 mm, length 25~40 mm filiform needles, after the arrival of qi, the reinforcing and reducing manipulation was applied during acupuncture and moxibustion, leaving needle 20 min, and warm moxibustion 10 minutes on the main points 1 times a day, every other day for 6 weeks which constitute the course of treatment.Patients in the Control group were treated using the non acupuncture method all patients received oral treatment of proprietary western drug medicines. Adjustable pill of ibuprofen 400mg each time bid, with warm water, and an ammonia chatter Yin (Methotrexate, MTX) 10mg +0.9% saline 20ml, intravenous Note,1 time per week, for 6 weeks After 6-week treatment groups were observed and recorded before and after treatment and the same was done for the control group. These results were then compared. Cases in the treatment group responded better than cases in the control group.Result:After six (6) weeks of treatment, the total effective rate in Rheumatoid arthritis was 85.7% in the treatment group and 74.94% in control group respectively (P<0.05). In addition, the parameters of rheumatoid arthritis, such as tender joint count, swollen joint count, morning stiffness duration, and mean grip strength scores improved remarkably after treatment in the treatment group compared with before treatment. other key laboratory indicators like RF, CRP, ESR, results were compare before and after and treatment there was a significant difference (p<0.01).Conclusion:The study found that the clinical therapeutic effect of Acupuncture and Moxibustion seen improvements in patients that received combined treatment than those that those that received western drug treatment only.
