Infantile diarrhea is not only one of the important diseases of the digestive system, also main prevention and cure disease of our country. WHO ranked diarrhea control as national stratagem, in developing countries, diarrhea still is the main reason of children death. TCM cognition to the disease is old-line, seasoned and curative effect affirmed. This Project is based on holistic concept of TCM, treatment based on syndrome differentiation and energy-channel theory. We treated the children by acupuncture and massage and investigated mechanism of action for the benefit of spreading and exploitation in clinic.Objective: To investigate the current situation of acupuncture and massage used to treat infantile diarrhea and investigate the mechanism of action.Methods:(1) We made a literature review on the pathogenesis, symptoms and sighs and treatment of infantile diarrhea.(2) At random, we divided 64 cases into two groups. The treatment group was treated with the combination of acupuncture and massage. And the control group was treated with siliankang. Then we made contrast analysis of the therapeutic effects between two methods.Results: The results of the clinical observation are that in the therapy group there are 17 cases taking recover, 11 cases taking marked effect, 2 cases taking effect, 2 cases taking no effect. The total effect rate is 93.7%.And in the control group there are 10 cases taking recover, 8 cases taking marked effect, 9 cases taking effect, 5 cases taking no effect. The total effect rate is 84.4%. As to therapeutic effect, there was significant difference between two groups(p < 0.05). The total effective rate of the treatment group is higher of the control group. In reducing time of stool, improving the character compared with of stool, improving appetite, settling the stomach, the treatment group excelled the control group.Conclusion:(1)As to the treatment methods on the infantile diarrhea, the combination of acupuncture and massage was better than siliankang.(2)Mechanism: Acupuncture and massage is an overall treatment. It not only has therapeutic action on local place, but also has corrective action to spleen and stomach. Thus to promote the function of digesting, absorbing, and discharging.(3)Acupuncture and massage is easy to operate and has no side effect. It is prone to accepted by children.
