| ObjectiveDiarrhea has become one of the most important health problem for children in China society,with its popularity and effect on the health and the quality of life.Multiple methods have been used in treating children diarrhea.In traditional Chinese medicine,infantile massage,one of the external therapies,has its own special advantages in treating children diarrhea.Infantile massage therapy has not only the similar efficiency with oral Chinese herbs,but also is easy to receive for children since it may be helpful for the communication in body touch and body language between the children and doctor.In this study,children with spleen deficiency diarrhea were treated with children's massage therapy,and the clinical curative effect was evaluated by TCM syndrome score of spleen deficiency syndrome and urinary D-xylose excretion rate.MethodsThe study totally enrolled 60 children with diarrhea in The First Affiliation Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine,acupuncture and infantile massage department,between March to December in 2017.With approval of inform consent,in accordance to the include criteria,60 children with spleen deficiency type diarrhea aged from 6 months to 3 years old were divided into the treatment group and the control group randomly,by use of random number table,with 30 cases in each group.The treatment group was treated with basic treatment plus massage therapy,while the control group was treated with basic treatment plus Shen Ling Baizhu powder.In the treatment group,the children's massage manipulation was operated with nourishing spleenmeridian,nourishing large intestine meridian,transporting internal eight diagrams,transporting Banmen,kneading Wailaogong,rubbing abdomen,kneading the navel,pushing upper seven sections of bone,rubbing Guiwei,chiropractics in order(200 times of each massage for children aged from one to two years old,300 times of each massage for children aged from 2 to 3 years old),once a day,five days as a course of treatment,two courses of continuous operation.In the control group,Shen Ling Baizhu powder was taken every day according to the number of grams,two times a day for ten days.During the period of treatment,breath rate,heart rate,body temperature,blood,urine,stool conventional liver and kidney function tests were performed every day.Ten days after the observation of the main symptoms of diarrhea of children with spleen deficiency(the number of stool,stool character)and secondary symptoms(appetite,abdominal distension,mental and physical conditions),the clinical curative effect of spleen deficiency syndrome score,total integral of spleen deficiency symptoms were evaluated.Moreover,at 1 day before treatment and 1 day after treatment,children take oral D-xylose.Then total number of urine output within 5 hours,was recorded and urine D-xylose excretion rate was calculate by use of colorimetry method.T test,non-parametric test and Redit test were used to analyze the difference in clinic effect between the treatment group and the control group,by use of the SPSS 20.0 software.Results1.In the treatment group,the average age of cases was 21.23±7.63 months,and the average course of disease was 5.20±1.63 days,including 17 boys and13 girls.In the control group,the average age of cases was 20.59±5.39 months,and the average course of disease was 6.10±1.24 days,including 16 boys and14 girls.No significant difference was found between the treatment group and the control group,in terms of gender,age,course of disease before the treatment(P>0.05).2.The difference between the spleen deficiency and the control group in the treatment group was statistically significant(P< 0.01).The difference of the spleen deficiency integral difference before and after treatment was compared,the improvement of the treatment group was obviously superior to the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P< 0.01),and the treatment group was obviously improved in the integral of the spleendeficiency.It was superior to the control group.3.After treatment,the spleen deficiency symptom score of the treatment group was compared with the control group.The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).The difference of the total score of spleen deficiency symptom before and after treatment was significantly better than that of the control group.The difference was statistically significant(P< 0.01),indicating that the treatment group was obviously superior to the improvement of the score of spleen deficiency symptoms.Subcontrol group.4.After treatment,the urine D-xylose excretion rate of the treatment group was significantly different from that of the control group(P < 0.01).The difference of urine D-xylose excretion rate before and after treatment was significantly better than that of the control group.The difference was statistically significant(P< 0.01),indicating that the treatment group was significantly better than the control group in the increase of urine D-xylose excretion rate.5.In terms of total curative effect after treatment,the difference was statistically significant between the treatment group and the control group(P<0.01),indicating that the clinical effect of chiropractic treatment group is better than that of the control group.6.After overall treatment,no significant difference was found between the treatment group and the control group,in blood,urine,stool convention,liver and kidney function,in comparison with those before treatment.In addition,no case of loss and intolerance to infantile massage therapy was found in whole process.ConclusionChildren's massage therapy can obviously reduce the symptom score of children with diarrhea in spleen asthenia,improve the score of spleen deficiency syndrome and spleen deficiency and increase the excretion rate of D-xylose in the children.The operation is convenient,safe and without any toxic and side effects. |
