【Objective】The internet addiction disorder(IAD) and related factors,especially psychosocial factors,were under investigation among the senior students in high schools in Deqing county Zhejiang province,which may provide a scientific basis for the prevention and intervention of IAD.【Materials and methods】1.Studied Subjects:The stratified random cluster sampling method was adopted,and 733 students from grade one to grade three in two general high schools and one occupational senior school altogether in DeQing county Zhejiang province were collected.2.Research tools include:(1) self-designed basic conditions survey;(2) internet addiction test(IAT);(3) high school students' stressor scale:(4) high school students coping strategies scale;(5) symptom Checklist 90(SCL90);(6) egna minnen av barndoms uppfostran (EMBU).3.methods:Under the unified guidance,the students finishded all the questionnaires themselves at one time.The test score more than 50 is considered to be IAD,and those below 50 were assigned to be non-IAD.All statistical analysis were done by using the software of SPSS13.0.【Results】1,The prevalence of IAD in the senior students from high schools in Deing county,Zhejiang province was 9.8%,with a statistically higher prevalence in the boys(12.2%) than in the girls(7.3%)(P<0.05):no statistical significance was found in different grades,types of schools,focus or non-focus classes.2,The statistical significance was found in the convenience of contacting internet between IAD and NON-IAD groups(P<0.001).3,Web surfing time was positively related with IAD(P<0.001);4,The prevalemc of 19.0%is the highest in aiming at making friends,and the second is for game(15.7%);5,All stimulus wererelated to IAD total scores of internet surfing:the coefficient was highest in self psychosomatic stress,and listed as the second place which were stress from classmates,friends, teachers and parents(P<0.001);6,negative coping strategies was significant positively related with IAD total scores(P<0.05);7,different education strategies by the parents were related with IAD total scores;8,factors of SCL-90 are related with IAD total scores,and total average,psychotics factors,paranoid ideation factors,interpersonal sensitivity factors,hostility factors and obsessive-compulsive factors are positively related with IAD total scores(P<0.001).9,multivariate logistic analysis indicated that stress from study and classmates,coping strategies of isolation,fantasy and denial,anxiety,over-interference by the fathers and average online time were related with these factors to IAD in these population.【Conclusions】The prevalence of IAD in the senior students from high schools in Deing county,Zhejiang province was 10%.with a higher prevalence among the boys than in the girls.IAD in these population were related with these factors as follows: gender,the convenience of contacting internet,stress from study and classmates, coping strategies of isolation,fantasy and denial,over-interference by the fathers and average online time.Psychological intervention of internet addiction can be conducted based on each factors of stress.
