Background and ObjectivesWhatever in developed or developing countries, injury has been recognized as an important public health problem. Injury has become a significant reason of leading to dead and disabled, especial for children and young. Injury surveillance is one of the key parts in injury prevention. Injury report is the basis work for injury surveillance and the quality of injury surveillance directly impacts on the annunciation of injury report, the formulation of injury prevention strategy and carrying out it. To enhance the injury surveillance quality effectively, provide more accurate injury material for the government and the related departments, this research through carrying on the injury surveillance in the different management pattern's hospital or the emergency room, analyze the influencing factors according to the World Health Organization assessment method, at the same time, we make the questionnaire about impact factors and collect them, understanding the different hospital emergency room management pattern to influence the quality of the injury monitor and other factors. It lays the foundation for appraisal the quality of injury monitor, and it is advantageous to propose the method and strategy based on these major influencing factors, thus improving its quality.Methods1. Build the injury surveillance spot in different hospital based on unifited injury surveillance method.2. Analyze the impact factors according to the WHO assessment method.3. Make questionnaire about influencing factors of the surveillance quality and collect them. put all data into data-base by FoxPro 8.0, after data-base were examined and checked, they were description analyzed,χ2-test and grey related analysis with SPSS 13.0 for Windows and DPS 9.5.Results1. According to the WHO assessment method of injury surveillance,we can drawn that : due to the model management restriction, the proportion of reporters received training and their initiativity was different in different models; There were issues in different models, such as: Omitted or more reported, the report card filled out incomplete or erroneous reporting information, bias retrospectively, data entry difficulty and so on, these issues are directly or indirectly impact the quality of injury surveillance.2. We can draw according to the questionares about injury surveillance infuencial factors that:First, the top five infuencial factors of the model A were the level of coordination among the organizations, the surveillance role, the ease of data entry, the certainty to the surveillance content of the reporters and the steering frequency.Second, the top five influencial factors of the injury surveillance model B were timely feedback issues, the level of coordination among the organizations, the ease of data entry, the steering frequency and the certainty to the surveillance content of the reporters.Third, the top five influencial factors of the injury surveillance model C were the level of coordination among the organizations, the surveillance role, the ease of data entry, timely feedback issues and the steering frequency.Fourth, the top five influencial factors of the injury surveillance model D were the ease of data entry, the steering frequency, the availability of funding, the understanding to the inury issues of the injruy patients and the certainty to the surveillance content of the reporters.Conclusions1. In the process of monitoring, different surveillance patterns have emerged some problems, these issues were directly or indirectly affect the quality of injury surveillance.2. The different influencial factors were varying to the different surveillance models. The level of coordination among the organizations, the surveillance role, the ease of data entry, the certainty to the surveillance content of the reporters and the steering frequency, timely feedback issues and the availability of funding, the understanding to the inury issues of the injruy patients, all of above were the main influencing factors in injury surveillance. Therefore, we should adopt effective and feasible measures according to the main problems and prime influencing factors to improve the quality of injury surveillance for related government providing accurate and reliable injury data.
