Objective:1 .Preliminarily expounding the theoretical system of Pattern Identification of Herbal Formulas. 2.Attempt to found the principal symptom, subordinate symptom, pathogenesis, diagnosis standard, treating method and the regularity of increasing and decreasing of herbs by collecting, categorization, analyzing and stating literatures.Methods: 1 .Data Collection:the selected literature from 1970-2006, published in medical journals.The data collection standard is that the main drugs in the prescriptions must include the main drugs in the original prescriptions.Drug modified shall not exceed 60 percent of the original prescription. 2. Information Collation:establishing a database, as the basis of statistical data,classifing, standardizing and simplifing diagnosis in Chinese and Western Medicine, disease name, symptoms, tongue and pulse conditions in the informations. Integrating the similar descriptions of symptoms. 3 .Statistical Method: principally applying frequency statistics. Put the symptoms whose frenquency exceeding the average in descending order, we will abstract principal symptoms and subordinate symptoms from those symptoms. Those symptoms whose percentage more than 50 percent of case number will be the indicationof principal symptoms, others as subordinate symptoms. 4.Through the analyzing and concluding of the literature,consulting the clinical experience of tutor, expounding pathogenesis, treating method, the regularity of increasing and decreasing of herbs and clinical applications.Result:categorizing summurizing and founding the principal symptom, subordinate symptom, pathogenesis, diagnosis standard, treating method, the regularity of increasing and decreasing of herbs of Febrile disease.
