Study Of Wu Jutong’s Nourishing Yin In Febrile Disease Theory

Wu Jutong,a distinguished febrile disease expert in Qing dynasty,inherited and developed Ye tianshi’s febrile disease theory in his medical practice,of which Wenbing was his important study. Importantly inspired by the some famous physicians in Tang,Song,Ji and Yuan dynasty,Wu’s medical theory has necessarily originated from Inner clasical and Shanghan Zabing theory. Supplemented with Wei qi ying xue Syndrome differentiation theory by Ye Tian shi,wu’s Sanjiao Syndrome differentiation theory has greatly perfected the febrile disease Syndrome differentiation system.In febrile disease treatment,Wu tirelessly emphasized that yin insufficiency was the important pathogenesis so the yin-nourishing method should not be neglected.Even a small drop of yin fluid can indispensably support such a single minute of life.This thesis has discussed the origination,characteristics and classifications of Wu’s yin-nourishing method.This thesis has also discussed his yin-nourishing fomular and basic laws of Wu’s yin-nourishing theory.The modern application of these are also included in the paper.The results are:Wu’s yin-nourshing method contain sweet-moist, sweet-cool, acid-sweet, sweet-cold, salt-cold, sweet-bitter ect. In Wu’s theory, the organism can respectively manifested the uper,middle,lower jiao symptom in febrile disease development, for which different treatment should be adorpted.For instance,in uper jiao febrile disease,the herbs that function light and diffusing should be used in yin-nourshing fomular, in the middle jiao, the the sweet-cold and bitter-cold herbs,in the lower jiao,the heavy scent and apocrustic herbs can’t be ignored.Importantly,Wu didn’t only emphasis the nourishing side in his thoery,he specifically stressed the ballance between evil and essence qi,the protection of spleen and stomach and yin-yang.The table show that the distribution has truely coinsided to his owe theory that yin-nourishing method can’t be ignored in febrile disease treatment,in which the sweet-moit,sweet-cold and acid-cold are comparatively high ranked.At the same time,Wu’s theory didn’t narrow in febrile disease but also effectively used in other clinical field including internal medicine,surgery,gynaecology,paediatrics and so on.We should better carry forward and develope Wu’s theory.
