Objective1.Attempt to found the principal symptom, subordinate symptom, pathogenesis, diagnosis standard, treating method and the regularity of increasing and decreasing of herbs by collecting, categorization, analyzing and stating literatures.2. The discussion is a part of the theoretical system of Pattern Identification of Formulas and Patterns.Methods1.Data Collection:combining the ancient literature and modern literature. The theoretical and practical discussion about this Formulas and Patterns in classical and modern medical literature. The selected literature from 1955-2006, published in medical journals.2.Information Collation: classifing, standardizing and simplifing diagnosis in Chinese and Western Medicine, disease name, symptoms, tongue and pulse conditions in the informations.3. Statistical Method: principally applying frequency statistics. Put the symptoms whose frenquency exceeding the average in descending order, we will abstract principal symptoms and subordinate symptoms from those symptoms. Those symptoms whose percentage more than 50 percent of case number will be the indicationof principal symptoms, others as subordinate symptoms.4.On the basis of principal subordinate symptoms, consulting the expositionof ancient and modern medicine about this Formulas and Patterns,analyzing the pathogenesis, diagnosis standard, treating method, the regularity of increasing and decreasing of herbs and clinical applications.Resultthrough the study of this Formulas and Patterns, finally establishing principal symptom, subordinate symptom, pathogenesis, diagnosis standard, treating method, the regularity of increasing and decreasing of herbs,and clinical applications of reconciled species.
