Study On Private Hospitals And Development Tactics In Taiyuan

The situation of public hospitals controlling the medical field has been changing gradually with the deep reform of medical care and health systems.Private hospitals are developing rapidly. The opening of medical care after entering WTO,Private hospital has its historical chance to develop.Private hospitals supply medical service of different levels catering for various demand of consumers as a makeup of national medical service system.The study on private hospitals development contributes to constitute policy to promote persistent and rapid development of private hospitals.Objective:To know the status by investigating the basic situations such as amount, personnel,equipment and workload of private hospitals.To understand the development actuality by comparing the private with public hospitals.The SWOT analysis is carried out based on the data to know about the strength,weakness,opportunity and threat.Analyze the factors influence them survival and development and provide the proof for the correlative department to formulate policy and provide advice for private hospitals to enhance themselves' competitive ability.Method:The paper use some measure to acquire the data such as consult document,SWOT analyze and deep interview.Main result:By the end of 2006,total private hospitals in Taiyuan 46,the number of all hospitals in Taiyuan is 29.11%,1,630 beds,2,830 health technology staff,including 1420 registered practitioners and assistant physicians,680 registered nurses.The out-patient and emergency number is 157000 all the year,the number of discharged patients is 18800,the inpatient surgery trips is 6100.Business area is 61738 square meters space.Conclusions:1.Private hospitals don't come up to the public hospitals at dimensions, technology and so on.2.public hospitals are confronted with survival pressure and competition so as to improve the service quality.3.Private hospitals release the deficient subsidy and employment of the student of medical schools to some extent.4.There are many difficulties in the development of private hospitals in Taiyuan.Suggestion:Based on the SWOT analysis,the study propose some measures to the government,medical institution and social institution.
