Studies On The Chemical Constituents Of Phyllostachys Nigra (Lodd. Ex Lindl.) Munro Var. Henonis (Mitf.) Stepf. Ex Rendle Leaves

Phyllostachys nigra(Lodd.ex Lindl.)Munro var.henonis(Mitf.)Stepf.ex Rendle (Graminae)is a plant widely distributed in Shanxi Province and all provinces of the south of Chang Jiang River in China.Its leaves are used as medicine.Several studies have indicated that the extract of the leaves possesses anti-oxidative,antimicrobial and antidotal activities.From the ethanol extract of the leaves of Ph.nigra(Lodd.ex Lindl.)Munro var.henonis (Mitf.)Stepf.ex Rendle,22 compounds were isolated by means of chromatographic methods (repeated column chromatography on silica gel,macroporous adsorptive resins column chromatography,preparative thin layer chromatography,Sephadex LH-20,open ODS column chromatography and recrystallization).On the basis of physico-chemical constants and spectroscopic analysis(UV,IR,NMR,MS),14 compounds of them were identified as follows:4-hydroxy-6,7-dimethoxy-1-naphthoic acid(1),tricin(2),tricin-7-O-β-D-glucopyra -noside(3),tricin-7-O-neohesperidoside(4),vitexin(5),orientin(6),isoorientin(7), 5-methyl-uracil(8),uracil(9),thymidine(10),xanthine(11),β-sitosterol(12),daucosterol (13),succinic acid(14).Among them,compound 1 was a new compound,compounds 6,7 were epimers,compounds 3,4,8,9,10,11,14 were obtained from this genus for the first time.
