Clinical Research On Treating Vitiligo With Tradictional Chinese Medicine By Nourishing Blood And Promoting Blood Flow

Vitiligo is a common disease with acquired depigmentary disorder,manifested with local or extensive depigmentation,which has a high incidence in recent years.Modern medical technique believe vitiligo is a disease characterized with local or extensive depigmentation on skin or mucous membranes,which is caused by the decrease and lose in the function of tyrosine system in the skin or hair-follicle' s melanocyte.However it' s etiology and pathology are not very clear yet.Now it mainly has autoimmunity theory,neurotransmitter theory,congenital lack of melanocyte and genetic factors.Traditional Chinese medcine believe it is caused by asthenia of essence and blood in liver and kidney,then the wind evil gets into the body,blocking the channels,or injury from tumbling and fighting causing stagnation of qi and blood.All of these can cause disturbance of qi and blood in striae of the skin and nourishment scarcity of skin.At present,it doesn't have satisfying therapeutics in western medicine,but traditional Chinese medicine can achieve certain therapeutic effect by treatment based on syndrome differentiation.My tutor Prof.Zhu Qijie has accumulated a wealth of experience in treating vitiligo with TCM,and has acquired notable clinical efficacy.ObjectiveDiscuss the clinical efficacy of the treatment on vitilogo with TCM compand "Eliminating-white Decoction" based on nourishing blood and promoting blood flow.MethodThe research is prospective study,semi-random control trial was conducted.By collecting the medical literature,we comprehended current situation of Chinese and western medicines,induced the pathogenic factors and pathogenesis of vitiligo,associated with the clinical experience of Prof.Zhu Qijie,summarized that "Eliminating-white Decoction" based on nourishing blood and promoting blood flow is efficient on treating vitiligo,and observed the clinical effect comparing with Halometasone/Triclosan Cream.All the cases came from out-patients of the first hospital affiliated to Guangzhou university of TCM,divided into there groups.30 patients in therapy group were treated with "Eliminating-white Decoction" and Halometasone/Triclosan Cream;23 patients in control groupⅠwere treated with "Eliminating-white Decoction";24 patients in control groupⅡwere treated with Halometasone/Triclosan Cream.Pigmentation of leukoplakia of three groups after 3 months and 6 months' treatment was observed and evaluated. Bad reactions during the course of treatment were also recorded.SPSS 11.5 software is used to make analysis of the data gained from the research.The enumeration data,calculating materials and grading materials were analyzed by chi square test,analysis of variance(ANVOA)and rank sum test respectively.Descriptive levels(P)less than 0.05 were considered significant.ResultsComparing age,course and location of disease,there was no obvious difference among the three groups,patients in three groups were well matched. The curative effect of the thearapy group and control groupⅠwere much better than that of control groupⅡafter 3 months and 6 months' treatment(P＜0.05). No bad reaction was found in three groups.Patients of therapy group and control groupⅠfelt that their body conditions improved distinctly,including energy,sleep and appetite,the same condition didn't appear in patients of control groupⅡ.ConclusionThe research has proved that traditional Chinese medicine can treat vitiligo effectively and safely.Treatment based on syndrome differentiation possess better improvement with main clinical adjoint symptoms of vitiligo, and can significantly improve the life quality of vitiligo patients.
