Calophyllum inophyllum Linn belongs to Calophyllum genus(Guttiferae).Plants of the Calophyllum genus are known as a rich source of secondary metabolites such as coumarins, xanthones, flavonoids, chromenes, triterpenes, etc.Based on the review on the chemical constituents and pharmacological research of the genus Calophyllum, the chemical constituents of Calophyllum inophyllum Linn. are studied. The chemical constituents of 95%EtOH extract from the stems and leaves of C. inophyllum were studied systematically.Twenty-six compounds were isolated by repeated silica gel, sephadex LH-20,opening ODS column chromatography and preparative TLC.On the basis of spectral data and physicochemical characters, the structures of these compounds were identified as friedelin(1),friedelan-3β-ol(2), canophyllal(3),canophyllol(4),canophyllic acid(5),canophyllalic acid(6), taraxasterol(7),caloxanthone I(8),2-hydroxyxanthone(9), 2-methoxy-3-hydroxyxanthone(10),caloxanthone N(11),1,3,7-trihydroxyxanthone (12),pyranojacareubin(13),6-deoxyjacareubin(14),jacareubin(15),amentoflavone (16),quercitrin(17),12-methoxyinophyllum D(18),calophyllic acid and isocalophyllic acid(1:1)(19),inophyllum D(20),calophyllolide(21),stigrnasterol (22),clovane-2β,9α-diol(23),shikimic acid(24),gallic acid(25),and protocatechuic acid(26).Among them, compound 11 is a new compound, compounds 7 and 23 were obtained for the first time from Calophyllum genus and compounds 10 and 24 were isolated firstly from C.inophyllum.
