Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Retinal Neovascularization Of DR Patients Of Qi-Asthenia Phlegm Stagnant Type With Shi Mingfang

Background and objectionDiabetes is a common but serious disease that influences people' s health and life, the rate of causing death and mutilation is only inferior to to the heart and cerebrovascular disease, cancer, occupying third in the systemic disease. Diabetic Retinopathy that is a diabetes' eyeground capillaries complication is one of the most serious microangiopathy of the complicating disease. Neovascularization indicate the aggravate of Diabetic Retinopathy. DR is the primary cause to grow blind to adult in the developed country. The threat of DR to visual was paied more and more attention day by day in our country. the report from domestic indicated that the diabetes patient's incidence rate in the eyeground was 38%—39%, when the course of disease was below 5 years. The incidence rate was 50%-56.17% when the course was 5-10 years. The incidence rate was 69%-90% when the the course was above 10 years. Therefore, how to prevent and control the occurrence and the development of DR in the early time is to be solved urgently in nowadays. The research of method to treate DR had make certain progress in recent years, which had reathe traditional Chinese medicine the research to, had demonstrated the unique superiority of traditional Chinese medicine initially. We observed the therapeutic effect of preventing and treating DR by Shi Mingfang through the utilization of traditional Chinese medicine and hoped to provide the objective basis for Shi Mingfang to prevent and treat DR.MethodsThe 60 cases of the patients were divided randomly into two groups, which were Shi Mingfang treatment group and Dao Shengming control group. There were 30 patients in the treatment group and 30 patients in the control group. The treatment group patients were treated by Shi Mingfang (each time 1 small bag, daily 2 times),and the control group patients were treated by Dao Shengming (each time 500mg, daily 2 times). The treatment course was 12 weeks. Then we compared the two treatments by vision, eyeground, Syndromes of TCM, and quality of life.ResultsIn the comparison of Syndromes of TCM, the total effective rate was 96. 66% in the treatment group, 66.66% in the control group, and there was significant difference between the two groups (P<0. 05). In the comparison of quality of life, the total effective rate was 93.33% in the treatment group, 46.67% in the control group, and there was significant difference between the two groups(P<0. 05). In the comparison of vision, there was significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). In the comparison of eyeground, the total effective rate was 98. 34% in the treatment group, 95% in the control group, and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).ConclusionsIn the aspects such as preventing and curing DR, improving syndromes of TCM, vision and quality of life, Shi Mingfang was superior to Dao Shengming. In the aspect of eyeground, Shi Mingfang was similar to Dao Shengming.
