Objective To investigate the tumour necrosis factorA-308(TNFA-308)genotype and its associated with the susceptibility of recurrent aphthous ulcer. Methods Genomic DNA was obtained from buccal swabs of 46 subjects with recurrent aphthous ulcer, 50 subjects healthy control individuals. Genotypes of TNFA - 308was analyzed by SSP - PCR method. Then compared the differences in distribution of each genotype. Results No statistical differences in distribution of TNFA - 308 genotype was observed among the groups with recurrent aphthous ulcer and healthy control individuals (P > 0. 05). Conclusions This study suggests that the TNFA- 308 genotype is not the indicator for the susceptibility of recurrent aphthous ulcer.
