Objective To explore the possible relationship between recurrent aphthous ulcer(RAU)and nuclear factor-?B signaling pathway. Methods A total of 124 RAU patients were recruited for this study. The control group consisted of 133 subjects.NF?Bp50,NF?Bp65,I?B?and IKK serum concentration were detected by ELISA.NF?B-94 ins/del ATTG sites were detected by restriction fragment length polymorphism-polymerase chain reaction(PCR-RFLP).The Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium can inspect groups' representative. All statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS 20.0statistical package. The measurement data were analyzed by t test and ?2 test.Results1.NF?B p50,NF?B p65 and IKK levels in serum of the patients were significantly lower than those of the controls(P <0.05).I?B? levels in serum of the patients were significantly higher than those of the controls(P <0.05).2.In the control group, the genotype frequencies of NF?B-94 ins/del ATTG site conform with the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, and have a group's representative.3.NF?B-94 ins/del ATTG :In this study,we found 2 alleles which are allele I and allele D,and3 genotypes which are genotype II,genotype ID and genotype DD.There was statistically significant difference in the frequencies of NF?B-94 ins/del ATTGgenotypes and alleles between the RAU patients and healthy controls, and the frequencyof the allele D in the RAU group is higher than in the healthy controls.P <0.05.Conclusion1.NF kappa B signaling pathway is associated with RAU.2.The polymorphism of the NF?B-94 ins/del ATTG was associated with RAU.
