Clinical Analysis Of 99 Cases With Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment

Object To investigate the characteristics ,surgical quomodo and clinical factors to postoperative vision in rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD). Method We retro- spectively analysised 99 patients(102 eyes) with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment that underwent surgical management in our hospital from January 2002 to October 2007.81 eyes underwent surgical management of scleral buckling and 21 eyes underwent surgical management of vitreoretinal surgery. To survey the age,refraction ,prodrome ,position of break, visual acuity, and the situation of the break and its closure on retina and retinal replacement of patients. Chi-square test was performed to analyze the postoperative vision and clinical factors,for example age,course,area of retinal detachment, proliferative vitreoretinopathy(PVR) and so on. Results There were 81 patients eld than thirty,38 eyes were high myopia,97eyes had prodrome, Muscae volitants and flashing lights are the common precursory symptom of RRD. The closure of break after surgery was observed in 95eyes(93.1%), and the break still existed in 7 eyes (6.9%).Retinal detachment replacement after operation was observed in 91 eyes(89.2%), and the failure of retinal detachment replacement was observed in 11 eyes(10.8%).Improved vision was observed in 53 eyes (52.0%), invariable vision was observed in 33 eyes(32.3%), and descended vision was observed in 16 eyes (15.7%). The situation of postoperative vision had significant difference in different PVR grade, course and area of retinal detachment( P < 0. 05) .Conclusion Old people and people who was high myopia were more likely suffered from RRD.Muscae volitants and flashing lights are the common.The break of RRD often lie in the temporal retina.Surgery is the most effective treatment to RRD at present. Postoperative vision improvement was related with PVR grade,area of retinal detachment,course and age.
