An Analys Of Long Term Care Needs By Old People In MiDong District In Urimqi

Objective: By understanding the needs of long term nursing-care of elderly in MiDong district in Urimqi, to give evidences to establish long-term nursing-care services system for elderly in Urimqi. Methods: This time the use of method of investigation is a random sampling survey,investigated a total number of elderly (60 years or over) 1050 people. Results: 1)The proportion of the elderly in need of nursing-care is increasing with age growing. 2)In everage ,the days of every elderly who need nursing-care is 102 days per year. 3)The proportion that elderly in MiDong district who receive nursing-care from local pension agency is very low,just 1.90%. 4)The medical expense that disabled elderly need is higher than who can living by themselves.5)Community nursing-care in line with the wishes of the majority of the elderly is one of the most appropriate model. 6)Medical expenses have serious impacted on the quality of life of elderly ,many people`s income just only maintain a basis living needs,and in these people elderly again old and older female dominated. 7)Most of the elderly on health-care information and knowledge of self-health have great demand. Conclusion: 1)In the second-class medical institutions should provide long-term elderly nursing-care places.2)Long term nursing-care insurance should be established as soon as possible.3)Speeding up the establishment of community care and it`s quality control in a sound system.
