Depression is a emotion and feeling obstacle with various reasons.It's main symptom is persistent sad,being unable to concentrate attention, lack of interest, bad appetite,losing weight, having crime feeling and suicide tendency. To sum up it's three main symptom are sad feeling, thinking and activity reduction.With the social development and intensive social competition, people's pressure have been increased, depression has become an ordinary and frequent disease. People have paid attention to the research of depression.Various factors are relevant to depression, such as social and mental situation, gene, enviroment, biology and etc.The mechanism is complicated, relating to nervous systom, immune systom, endocrine systom. The mechanism can be summarised in four aspects:1. endocrine disorder 2. monoamine transmitters deficiency 3. immune systom disorder 4. cytokines factor. Depression mechanism is also related to sex and nerve conducting way. With the development of molecular biology, people have a new understanding on depression. Clarifying the molecular mechanism of depression provides a new theory for the research of new medicine on depression.Triditional Chinese medicine beliebve that negative feeling affects liver's function and in consequence cause a lot of symptoms. The mechanism focuses on liver, spleen and heart. Aiming at this mechanism, professor Li invested SGJYY. This prescription may regulate the functions of liver, spleen and heart, relieving the symptom of depression.On the basis of different mechanism, a variety of depression models have been invested. The chronic unpredictable stress model is resemble to depression, so it is the most popular model in recent years. In this study, besides healthy control group, all other groups mice were segregated and received chronic unpredictable stress. At the 21th days of the experiment, all the mice except healthy control group had obvious change. The weight growth became slow, the comsumption of sugar water and scores of movement were also lower. The above change demonstrated the depression model had been established successfully. Meanwhile, we start giving corresponding drugs to each group mice. At the 42th days of the experiment,compared with depression model group mice, each curing group mice, including fluoxetine Hydrochloride group, SGJYY large dose and small dose group, presented a significant change. All the weight, the consumption of sugar water and scores of movement increased, the data of large and small dose of SGJYY didn't show significant different to that offluoxetine Hydrochloride group, demonstrating SGJYY can relieve symptoms such as low appetite, lsing weight, and it can enhangce mental situation and activity, mke mice interest in sorroundings, SGJYY has effect in treatment of depression.CRP is an important acute reactive protein,it is generated by liver when the tissue or organ is hurt,it is non-specific inflammation marker.Because of different degree stress, there are inflammation activation tendency and abnormal immune fuction. CRP is an important substance in inflammation and is related to inflammation and immune systom, so we believe CRP is responsible for depression. In this study, we found the CRP of depression group mice were higher than that of normal group mice, this result identify immune abnormal in depression, demonstrating the increase of CRP may be a immunological token of depression. Comparing to normal group mice, the CRP of large and small group mice was lower significantly, demonstrating SGJYY can relieve depression by regulating immune systom and inhibiting inflammation reaction.Zn is an important trace element of the body,existing extensively in organs of the body. It plays an important role in mediating cellular immunity.As is known, immune systom is relevant to depression, however, Zn also is of utmost importance in the developing of immune systom and maintaining its normal functions, furthermore, Zn can influent immune systom by avoiding apoptosis, some study state Zn level in serum and depressed degree is obviously negative correlation.From the information illastrated above we can see Zn can influent both immune systom and inflammation,it may be an indicator in observing depressed degree.In this study, comparing to normal group mice, the Zn level of depression group mice presented a significant decrease,witnessing the correlation of low Zn and depression. After 3 weeks treatment, comparing to depression model group mice, the Zn level both large and small dose SGJYY group mice had increased. On the basis of the negative correlation of Zn level and immune systom, we can see those depressed mice received relief. SGJYY can influent immune systom and inhibit inflammation reaction by enhancing Zn level in serum, thereby relieve depression.In this study, from analyzing the weight, activity, CRP and Zn level in serum of each group mice, we witnessed SGJYY has a satisfied effect on relieving depressed situation. On the basis of the correlation of Zn, CRP, immune systom and the change of Zn, CRP, we have the opinion that regulating the funtion of immune systom may be a mechanism of SGJYY.
