Drinking-water type endemic fluorosis is the most destructive endemic and has the largest number of sufferers in China. Warm-spring-type fluorosis is a common type of the drinking-water endemic fluorosis. In this paper, we make an epidemiological investigation of endemic fluorosis in Tangchi Village, Wenquan Town, Yuexi County of An Hui province, found that fluorosis has also been middling prevailing there. So more researches should be done on how the high fluorine environmental background in these endemic areas do harm to human health through food chain. To investigate the effect of water-soluble fluorine in soil and the fluorine in irrigative water on the crops and human health in hotspring-induced fluorosis areas, local water, paddy soils, rice, total vegetables and soils around their roots were systemically collected and analyzed, compared with the non-fluorosis areas where were similar to the fluorosis areas both in natural background and social background. And make categories between the fluorine contents of different parts of vegetables in the fluorosis and non-fluorosis areas. Make a research on the difference existed in the fluorine fixation potential among various crops. The results indicated that rice and vegetables could accumulate both the water-soluble fluorine in soil and the fluorine in irrigative water, there was a significative difference existed in the fluorine fixation potential among various crops. Moreover, the results showed that, the fluorine fixation potential in different parts of a crop were also quite different, it showed that fluorine contents existed in the hearty metabolism parts were higher, The entry of hot spring with high fluorine into the environment causes the increase of the environmental fluorine background value, result in the fluorine content of drinking water and soil get higher, then the risk of human being's exposure to fluorine increases, only through water-improving and defluoridation projects can not really stop the prevalence of fluorosis, it's must to take integrated control measures to avoid the excessive intake of fluorine. This paper also introduced a series of remedial measures such as water-improving and Defluoidation projects, health education programmers to reduce the risk of human fluoride exposure. Then make the harm of endemic fluorosis on human health as lowly as possible.
