Objective:1.To test reliability and validity of the Job Content Questionnaire (JCQ) and revise it using 3 core module of the JCQ, which were job demand, job control (decision latitude),social support, using this results to provide compact, practical testing tool for Occupational stress study.2.To inspect the occupational stress of occupational people by revised JCQ scale and analyze the distributing feature, vary laws and the influencing factors of occupational stress; analyze the relation between occupational stress and depression. To provide the basis for improving work condition by effective intervened measures, decreasing Occupational stress ,improving the mental health of occupational people.Methods:1.Depend《the People's Republic of China occupational classification dictionary》, selecting the representative units from more than 80 work types in 5 work types of Fuzhou city, 1238 workers from above units making the sample by cluster random sampling method, using the sample to evaluate and revise JCQ. Using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, split-half reliability, theta coefficient, omega coefficient to assess the reliability of JCQ, using correlation coefficients between item score and total score for item analysis, using item analysis and factor analysis to assess the structure validity a of JCQ scale.2.Using the revised JCQ, A style behavior scale, coping style scale and cross-sectional study method to test the job character, individual character, demology character of 1238 workers, analyze the distributional character of Occupational stress ,compare the influence of different occupation and individual character on the occupational stress.3.672 workers by cluster random sampling from the above workers were survey using SDS, WAI, whose depression and work ability were evaluate. Logistic model was used to analyze the influencing factors of depression.Results:1.Validity and reliability evaluating of the JCQCronbach's alpha coefficient, split-half reliability, theta coefficient, omega coefficient, of the JCQ were conformed to the demand of psychological measure.Analysis showed that the items of DL2, DL6 in the JCQ showed poor discriminant validity, which couldn't distinguish the level of job control between different workers, their scores were low correlated with the total score (rDL2=0.273,rDL6=0.222)and they couldn't have high factor loading attached to the same factor as the other items, suggesting that the items were not ones of the constituent of job control and the analysis of the revised JCQ in which the items of DL2, DL6 were deleted revealed that its reliability showed a little higher than un-revised one , which showed that the items of DL2, DL6 should be deleted from the scale. The analysis of the revised JCQ in which the items of DL2, DL6 were deleted revealed that its Cronbach's alpha coefficient, split-half reliability, theta coefficient and omega coefficient showed a little higher, 0.853,0.841,0.869,0.825 respectively. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient and the split-half reliability of job control module were 0.635,0.772 respectivel, the correlation coefficients between the total scores and the scores of its items were ranged from 0.443 to 0.680,which could show the occupational depression. The analysis of item discriminant showed that the difference of each item score of job control module (DL2, DL6 deleted) in higher group and lower group was significant (P<0.001), it was suggesting that the items of job control module showed a good discriminant validity, which could distinguish the job control between different workers after DL2, DL6 deleted.Factor analysis displayed that 5 common factors (latent roots higher than 1.0) were drawn after DL2, DL6 deleted, whose rate of variance was 59.393%, higher than that of the 5 common factors of the un-revised scale. The factors loading of each item attached to these factors were more than 0.40(ranged from 0.464 to 0.846). Three modules were composed from 5 common factors, which were supervisor social support module (F1), coworker social support module (F2), job control module (F3), coincided in the theoretical mode, but the job demand module (F4,F5) spaned two factors, it showed that the structure of job demand module wasn't distinct, which need more betterment.2.Distribution of the occupational stressThe analysis of job demand showed that the difference of job demand of different jobs was significant (F=3.392,P<0.05), the job demand of unit rector was highest; the more education degree, the more job demand (F=3.323,P<0.05);job demand was descendent with age rising (F=3.208,P<0.05), male workers'job demand was higher than female workers'(t=2.068,P<0.05); the difference between different individual character was not significant, so it was between different coping style. The analysis of job control showed that the distributions of different characters were different, the job control of A type workers'was higher than B type workers(P<0.001), positive group job control was higher than negative group(P<0.001);the difference between different educational degree was not significant, so it was between different work type; the job control of regular workers was higher than unregular workers(P<0.001).The analysis of social support showed that the difference of different characters was significant , positive group's social support was higher than negative group's (P<0.001);male workers'social support was lower than female workers'(t=2.668,P<0.05),unmarried workers'social support was higher than married or unnormal marring(F=9.765,P<0.001);the social support of junior college was higher than senior high school(F=8.997,P<0.001);the difference of different workers was significant(F=14.957,P<0.001),regular workers was higher than unregular workers (P<0.001).3.Influence of occupational stress on the depressionThe depression scores of high strain workers(52.32±0.77), passive workers(51.22±0.65), were more than low-strain workers(46.12±0.71)and active workers(45.72±0.98); the normal percent of active workers(69.2%), lowstrain workers(68.2%)were more than passive workers(55.0%),high strain workers (51.7%). The percent of more serious depression of passive workers was(15.3%), the one of high strain workers was(13.3%),the one of lows-train workers (9.3%) active workers(3.7%).The analysis of depression showed that passive coping style(OR=2.291),A type (OR=2.118),older, passive type(OR=1.824), strain(OR=1.903) were the risk factors of depression, while the more social support, the more educational degree were the protective factors of depression.4.Influence of occupational stress and depression on the work abilityThe score of work ability of lows-train workers was highest, the one of passive workers was higher, the one of high-strain workers was lowest, the difference among different occupational stress types was significan(tF=17.233,P<0.001);the difference of different social support was significan(tt=7.338,P<0.001);the score of work ability of normal group was highest, the low depress group was higher, the serious depress group was lowest, the difference among them was significant(F=74.339,P<0.001);The multivariable linear regression analysis of work ability show that depression, social support, age, high strain enter the equation.Conclusions:1.There was acceptability reliability and validity in revised JCQ scale, which could show the job demand, job control and social support of Chinese workers, was concision and practicality, could be the measure tool of occupational stress of Chinese workers, while the job demand module need betterment.2.The job factor had main influence on job demand, while job control, social support were influenced by individual character, job factor, individual behavior character and coping style.3. Occupational stress and social support were the important influencing factors of depression and work ability, the medium factors of occupational stress, which were behavior style and coping style, were the factors of depression and work ability.
