Objective: We investigated the relevance of brain natriuretic peptides(BNP) inmonitoring chronic heart failure(CHF) including the value of diagnosis and evaluationfor CHF,the corelation of BNP and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF).Methods: Totally 81Patients with chronic heart failure and in Jilin CentralHospital from2004 to 2006 were recruited and 17 normal subjects were selected ascontrol.81 PatientsⅢby severity of heart failure according to the New York Heart Association classification.Subgroup study was set up according to death.correlation analysis was perfomed forBNP, LVEF, age and Left ventricular end-diastolic dimension in groups and subgroup. The plasma level of brain natriuretic peptide was measured with ELISA method, leftventricular ejection force was studied by Doppler echocardiography, The correlationamong them were analyzed. Results: The blood plasma BNP density inⅢ(group is (58.26±15.36),(777.52±339.80),(1056.96±333.60) pg/ml,With the increaseof NYHA level, the density of BNP get rising. The BNP is positive correlated totⅢ, Control groupⅣablood plasma BNP density is higher than the non-death group's, which difference hasthe significance (P<0.01). Negative correlation was revealed between BNP values andLVEF (r=-0.548,P<0.01), Left ventricular end-diastolic dimension and BNP values inpatients had positive correlation (r=0.505,P<0.01).Conclusion: Higher the blood plasma BNP density is, worse the prognosis is.The bloodplasma BNP density can reflect well the left ventricular function condition of the chronic heart failure patient. The blood plasma BNP density is the sensitive data toevaluate the prognosis of the CHF patient, which has the clinieai practice value.
