ObjectiveMeasure the sanction of fixation retainer of the splint with CCD scanner, andcompare the mechanics parameters of the band of cloth, plastic and vacuum rubber.Choose the vacuum rubber as the best sensitive and fixative material to simplify thecomplicated course of measurement, and process clinical tests.Methods1) Process the mechanics measurement of drawing to the band of cloth, plasticand vacuum rubber with the omnipotence experiment machine. Choose the vacuumrubber act as the transduce material. 2) Process loading experiment on vacuumrubber band, to demarcate mechanics parameters on the lower load. 3) Develop thephotoelectricity transducer and process demarcating experiment. 4) Enlace 10volunteers the Colle's splint with the plastic-rubber band, and process simulativetest with the photoelectricity transducer.Results1. The ultimate intensity of plastic is 24.39±0.19 Mpa, cloth is 22.54±0.91Mpa, vacuum rubber is 6.534±0.26 Mpa. The modulus of elasticity of cloth is226.554±8.97 Mpa, plastic is 15.424±0.25 Mpa, vacuum rubber is 1.11±0.08 Mpa.2. In the basic demarcate loading experiment on vacuum rubber band, the wholeoriginal length is 10.40 mm, and 4 weeks later increase to 10.88 mm, augment 0.44mm, 4.2% of the whole original length. Loading 1200g for 4 weeks, the wholelength change from 15.35 mm to 16.71mm, augment 1.36 mm, 8.14% of the wholelength, equal to 130g in basic test of the photoelectricity transducer. 3. The curveof displacement-force presents typical linearity. The displacement of 1mm equal to100g, and the rate of error is less than 1.5‰, accord with the require of design on engineering science, and completely satisfy the clinical require. 4. The result of1st simulative test shows that along with plastic band displacement and locked byevery alveolus, the rubber band express the corresponding draught state. The valueof force puts up linearity ascend tendency, the tendency of force distribute on theexercise state is similar to that of static state, but the value of force will ascendsaccordingly, the linearity is obvious especially in the reach of 400g to 1200g. Theresult of 2nd simulative test shows that on properly sanction 800g state thesensitive rubber fixation retainer elongate 10.43±0.07mm, on the 1000g stateelongate 11.49±0.05mm, on the 1200g state elongate 12.41±0.08mm. And the test 2is more accurate than the test 1.Conclusion1. From the drawing tests to the band of cloth, plastic and vacuum rubber,we can see that the ultimate intensity of plastic is highest, and that of vacuumrubber band is lowest. The modulus of elasticity of cloth band is highest, and thatof vacuum rubber band is lower. 2. The vacuum rubber band belongs to thematerial among the three material that can deform markedly on the lower loading.3. The design that base on the principle of bar code scan is one of effective waysto measure the sanction of fixation retainer of the splint. The design combinesmany technique, for example: CCD photo scan principle, bar code identifyprinciple, singlechip programme technique et al. This design being applied to clinicmedicine is advancement of electronic design. 4. The two ways of measurementall can prove that the vacuum rubber band is apply to the demands of test onmeasurement to the sanction of fixation retainer of the splint with CCD scanner, asthe material that can deform markedly on the lower loading.
