ObjectiveTo Study the relationship between the Levels of serum insulin, C-reactiveprotein(CRP), Tumor necrosis factor (TNF-a), insulin resistance index, glucose, blood fat, blood pressure, body mass index, waist circumference andcoagulation of phlegm and blood stasis type in metabolic syndrome of metabolicsyndrome, so as to discuss the significance of coagulation of phlegm and bloodstasis type in treatment based on syndrome differentiation of metabolicsyndrome ,in order to find the objective evidence of differentiation ofsymptoms and signs of traditional Chinese medicine of metabolic syndrome.MethodsIn this study, 54 cases with metabolic syndrome were divided into groupsof coagulation of phlegm and blood stasis type and non-coagulation of phlegmand blood stasis type according to the clinical symptom, tongue demonstrationand Pulse tracings. There were 25 cases in coagulation of phlegm and bloodstasis group, 29 cases in non-coagulation of phlegm and blood stasis group.Body height, body weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, of the patientswere measured .The levels of serum insulin, CRP, TNF-α, glucose, blood fatwere checked. Calculate insulin resistance index, body mass index. Thedifferences of all the indexes in the two groups were compared. Analysis thedependability between serum insulin, CRP, TNF-αand other indicators. Inaddition, serum insulin, CRP, TNF-αof 20 persons who were healthy were checkedand were compared with the two groups of metabolic syndrome.ResultsThe levels of serum insulin, CRP, TNF-αof the two groups of metabolicsyndrome are significantly higher than those of the healthy persons (P<0.05or P<0.01) . The levels of fasting insulin, CRP, insulin resistance index, body mass index, systolic blood pressure of the coagulation of phlegm and bloodstasis group are significantly higher than that of the non-coagulation ofphlegm and blood stasis group (P<0.05 or P<0.01) . There is positive correlationand statistical significance between serum insulin, CRP, TNF-αand body massindex, waist circumference, systolic blood pressure, fasting insulin, insulinresistance index, triglyeride (P<0.05 or P<0.01).ConclusionThis study found that there is high level of serum insuline, CRP, TNF-αin the patients with metabolic syndrome. Coagulation of phlegm and blood stasistype is significant in the differentiation of symptoms and signs of traditionalChinese medicine in metabolic syndrome. There is direct relationship betweencoagulation of phlegm and blood stasis type in metabolic syndrome and bodymass index, fasting insulin, insulin resistance index , CRP, TNF-α, TG,systolic blood pressure. The high levels of body mass index, insulin, insulinresistance index, CRP and TNF-αare the pattern of manifestation ofcoagulation of phlegm and blood stasis type , can be the objective indexesof differentiation of symptoms and signs of traditional Chinese medicine inmetabolic syndrome and the evidence of therapeutic effect.
