The Analysis Of Age Related Factors Of Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment

Rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD) is one kind of severe ophthalmopathy,it relates to the tears retinal. RRD is the result of complex action of the vitreodegeneation and the retinal degeneration.Many factors can influence the invasion of RRD,such as the high myopia,ocular injury.The operator can choose the suit operate such as the scleral buckling procedure,the vitrectomy,retinal laser coagulation , injection the silicon oil or gas into the vitrous chamber and other therapeutic methods.The age of onset of the RRD is from 20 to 55,but with the early invasion of the myopia,external injury and the congenital dysplasia of retinal, the teenagers become more and more.With the elongation of life,the inception rate of the old age patients increases year by year. Retrospective analysis of cases of 117 RRD patients treated in our hospital during October 2005 to October 2006, approaches the invasion reasons,clinical features and the therapeutic efficacy differences in the teenager group,the middle-aged group and the older age-group.First, to compare the related factors of the three groups.In the teenager group(34 eyes),15 eyes had the highmyopia history,8 eyes had the ocular injury history,3 eyes had the LASIK history.In the middle-aged group(56 eyes), 20 eyes had the high myopia history,4 eyes had the ocular injury history,2 eyes had ECCE or Phaco history,one eye had the iris laser drilling history,and 3 eyes had the retinal detachment operation history.In the older age-group(35 eyes), 4 eyes had the high myopia history,2 eyes had the ocular injury history,5 eyes had ECCE or Phaco history, 3 eyes had the retinal detachment operation history.Second,to compare the retinal hole shape, the retinal derachment extent and wheather involving the macular region. In the teenager group(34 eyes),20 eyes have the round hole,2 eyes have the horse-shoe hole,8 eyes have the great hole which including ora serrata mutilation.One eye has the macular hole,one eye has the macular hole combining the horse-shoe hole.The detachment extent of 3 eyes involves the macular area.In middle-aged group, 23 eyes have the round hole,20 eyes have the horse-shoe hole,6 eyes have the great hole which including ora serrata mutilation.4 eyes have the macular hole,2 eyes have the macular hole combining the round hole.The detachment extent of 21 eyes involves the macular area.2 eyes involved the detachment of choroids. In the older age-group(35 eyes). 8 eyeshave the round hole,11 eyes have the horse-shoe hole,One eye has the great hole which including ora serrata mutilation.11 eyes have the macular hole,4 eyes have the horse-shoe hole combining the round hole.The detachment extent of 16 eyes involves the macular area.One eye involves the detachment of choroids.Then,to compare the postoperative recovery condition(following-up visit 2 to 14 months).In the teenagers group,31 eyes have the reattachment of retina,51 eyes have in the middle age group and 31 eyes have in the old ager-group.Using the log rank method to test wheather the comparing of the RRD related factors,the hole shape and the postoperative recovery condition of the three groups have the obvious differences.The result shows: the comparing of the related factors between the teenager group and the old ager-group has the obvious difference in the inception rate of the high myopia and the ocular injury;the comparing of the inception rate of high myopia between the teenager group and the middle age group has no obvious difference;the comparing of the inception rate of the ocular injury between the teenager group and the middle age group has the obvious difference.The inception rate of the great hole and the oraserrata mutilation of the teenager group and the middle age group is higher than the old ager-group obviously ;the inception rate of the macular hole of the old age group is higher than the teenager group and the middle age group;the comparing of weather the extent of the retinal detachment involving the macular area shows that the teenager group is the lowest.There is no obvious difference among the three groups in the comparing of the postoperative recovery condition.The conclution: there is no obvious difference in the therapeutic efficacy among the three groups.But the comparing of the clinical feature has the obvious differences.
