The Radiotherapy is one of the most significant approaches in malignant tumor treatment and also a typical dense-equipped therapeutics. In the entire treatment process, it involves a large amount of frequent data transfers. Therefore, a safe and fast transfer method is essential to the therapeutic quality. DICOM RT, a specific information transfer standard established in the international radiotherapy research area, is one of the most important supplements based on DICOM standard for the special requirements of radiotherapy. As the most recognized and feasible data transfer standard in radiotherapy area, DICOM RT plays an essential role in the standardization and professionalization of the radiotherapy data usage and transfer. To dive into this significant standard, the thesis discussed our application work of DICOM RT in the dissertation, building coding and decoding interface softwares of DICOM RT, which makes separate widely different equipments in radiotherapy departments open to each other.Firstly, the thesis introduced the DICOM RT standard, including its mainframe and basic contents, and specified its information model, data coding, structure and characteristics. Then it presented the design work of the DICOM RT data coding and decoding interfaces. The data coding is to construct data documents following the DICOM RT. The DICOM RT WRITE interface is built to realize the creation of four main DICOM RT objects, including RT Image, RT Dose, RT Structure Set and RT Plan, in the clinical beam radiotherapy process. Comparatively, the data decoding is to parse data documents following the DICOM RT. Accordingly, the DICOM RT READ is compiled to realize the task. Both the full item browse and the single item parsing functions are implemented.Finally, the thesis demonstrated the DICOM RT information system based on the DICOM RT interfaces introduced above. It is mainly designed for the display and management of DICOM RT data and provides as well the operations of case histories and basic functions of the imaging station. In the dissertation, it offered the detailed design scheme and elaborated seven main modules in our system, including data retrieving, image operation, data processing, case history management, file management, DICOM RT information display and interface design.So far, the DICOM RT interfaces and information system realized the established goal in our design and operated quite well in the tests. In the end, the thesis presented certain opinions about future research work for reference.
