[ Objective ] To explore the serum adiponectin concentrations in patients with hypertension , and the relations among adiponectin and blood pressure, BMI, insulin, tumor necrosis factor-alpha.[Methods] 45 hypertension patients who all coincided with 1999 WTO diagnostic standard were enrolled, secondary hypertension , diabetes mellitus , coronary heart disease , heart failure , renal failure , cerebrovascular disease patients were excluded. And 45 healthy subjects were collected as control group whose age , sex , BMI were matched with hypertension patients. All of them were measured height and weight, calculated BMI. And they were taken fasting blood samples for measurements of plasma glucose, plasma lipids, insulin, tumor necrosis factor-alpha(radioimmunoassay), and adiponectin (ELISA).[ Results ] 1 . The age , BMI, HDL-C had no significant difference between two groups . Systolic pressure(SBP), diastolic pressure(DBP), mean arterial pressure(MAP), fasting plasma glucose (FPG), fasting insulin (FINS) , insulin resisted index (IRI) , total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG), LDL-C, TNF-α were higher in hypertensive group than those in control group . 2. The concentrations of adiponectin in hypertensive group were significant lower than those in the control group(7.467±1.415mg/Lvs.(9.966±1.479mg/L, P<0.01). The control group and hypertension group were divided into two subgroup that were normal weight group and overweight group respectively. ANOVA analysis suggested that adiponectin were significant different among four subgroups. LSD analysis suggested that four subgroups had significant difference one another ,excluding hypertension subgroups(P<0.05). 3. Pearson relation analysis showed that adiponectin levels were negatively correlated with BMI(r=-0.526,P<0.01) , SBP(r=-0.474 , P<0.01) , MAP(r=-0.348 , P<0.05), FPG (r=-0.431,P<0.01), FINS (r=-0.562, P<0.01), IRI(r=-0.651, P<0.01), TC(r=-0.367, P<0.05), TG(r=-0.316, P<0.05) ,TNF-α(r=-0.585, P<0.01) in hypertension group, and negatively correlated with BMI(r=-0.671, P<0.01),...
