Objective: To study the meaning of heat-pathogen in carotid therosclerosis and make clinical observation of"Ge Gen Qin Lian Tang Jia Jian"in treating it . Methods:In the aspect of theory, the article explored the meaning of heat-pathogen in carotid therosclerosis by summing up the literature and analyzing how the heat-pathogen produced and did harm to the body. In clinic research, 50 cases of carotid therosclerosis with heat-syndrome were randomly divided into two groups. Among them 24 cases had been treated with aspirin and simvastatin tablets served as the control group, the other 26 cases with Ge Gen Qin Lian Tang Jia Jian in addition served as the treatment group. After 12 weeks, we observed the clinic effect. Results: The treatment group showed an effective rate as 88.46%, while the control group 75.00%. In TCM syndrome, the effective rate of the treatment group was 92.31%,while the control one 54.17% ,they had marked difference. Besides, it can improve clinical symptoms, decrease the grade of ultrasonic and have a good effect on other indexes. Conclusions: The heat-pathogen played an importand role in the occurrence and development of carotid therosclerosis. Ge Gen Qin Lian Tang Jia Jian associated with basic west medicine treatment obtained an obvious effect on the treatment of carotid thero- sclerosis with heat-syndrome.
