Objective: The research is to study the comparative of the therapeutic effect of the warmacupuncture(WA) and the electroacupuncture(EA) to treat Knee Osteoarthritis. (KOA), observes the divergence of these two therapy to treat KOA and explores an effective therapeutic plan for KOA. Methods: 60 cases of patients, 7 of those were rejected and others were randomly divided into two groups according to the standardization of the diagnostic and demands, 27 cases belong to the WA group and the other 26 cases belong to the EA group. Public experimental method was used and the following three indexes were performed: moving pain (recording the points by VAS), walking time in 15 metres , clinical integral of symptoms and signs. The obtained data were analyzed by statistical methods to compare the therapeutic effect of the WA and the EA to treat KOA. Results: Both of groups get nicer therapeutic effect on KOA. The total effective proportion of the WA group is 92.59% and the EA group is 84.62%, no marked difference is observed (p>0.05). But the cure and distinct proportion of the WA (74.07%), is superior to that of the EA group(46.15%)(p<0.05). Conclusion: Both of the WA and the EA are effective methods to treat KOA, but the clinical effect of the WA is more outstanding and comprehensive. The result of the reseach provides scientific basis for the clinical choice of the therapeutic method for the treatment of KOA.
