Objective To measure the reliability and validity of the Job Stressors Questionnaire used among nursing directors, to explore their job burnout, job stressors, perceived supervisory social support and the relationship among them, to evaluate factors influencing job burnout of nursing directors. This study will provide the theoretical support and the practical guidance to reduce job burnout and job stress for improving clinical nursing management.Methods Subjects were 293 nursing directors, vice nursing directors or general nursing managers in the secondary and tertiary hospitals in Shandong Province. The questionnaires were sent by the Shandong Provincial Health Department. The investigation method (including descriptive research and analysis research) was used. The self-designed demographical data questionnaire, the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS), the self-designed Job Stressors Questionnaire and Perceived Supervisory Social Support Rating Scale were used to collect data in this study. The data were calculated by SPSS11.5 software. The job burnout of nursing directors was compared by t-test or x~2-test. The correlations between two of job burnout, job stress and perceived supervisory social support were analyzed by Pearson correlation. The factors influencing job burnout were analyzed by multiple stepwise regression.Results 1.
