Objective: Find out the interrelated factors of the social-life ability of children with cerebral palsy through inquiring 50 cases, then use different measures to various types of cerebral palsy in order to improve their life quality.Methods: 50 children patients have been chosen who were diagnosed at clinic or in sickroom from Nov. 2005 to Mar. 2006. They have been divided into three groups : hemiplegia, athetosis and the others. A study of social–life ability was carried out in these children with cerebral palsy by Infants-junior Middle School Student Social-life Ability Scale and the family associated questionnaire.Results: 30 of 50 children with cerebral palsy showed that the marks of social-life ability were much more than 9 (normal group), the others were less than 9 marks (abnormal group).The marks of hemiplegia group was the highest among the three groups and the athetosis group's was the lowest. Through the single factors analysis, the related factors to the social-life ability of cerebral palsy children include types of cerebral palsy, the age of first diagnosis, the therapy period, the educational level of their parents, the family economic status and the caring grade of their parents et al.Conclusions: The social-life ability of hemiplegia is the best than the other groups. The type of cerebral palsy, the education grade of his /her mother ,atoxia at natality,well breeded or not and the head circumference are important factors to social-life ability .But the educational grade of his/her father,the living environment,the family economic status and the caring grade of their parents had nothing with the social-life ability in this study.
