Background: Stroke, characters of high disease incidence, high death rate, high disability rate, and high recurrence rate, has become one of the four most vital diseases (angiocardiopathy, malignant tumor and diabetes mellitus) in many countries. Therefore, prophylaxis of stroke is important to the society. Prophylaxis and treatments for the main risk factors of stroke are keys to reducing the occurrence of stoke.Purpose: The research collects ischemia stroke and hemorrhagic stroke patient clinical data separately. Those clinical data mainly includes onset time, etiological factors, correlated diseases and clinical symptom, blood-lipid and blood clotting. The research statistically analyzes all the data. The results can help to prevent the occurrence of stroke for high-risk group.Method: The research use cross-sectional methodology. Case studies are from the fourth medical department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM, from February 2005 to February 2006. It collected clinical data of ischemia stroke and hemorrhagic stroke patients to analysis whether distinction between the 2 strokes. Clinical observation including: age, sex, onset time, remote cause, previous medical illness, unhealthy habit, symptom before stroke. The analysis used U test and X~2 test method by Microsoft Excel.Result:1. Totally 110 cases, male patients are more than female. Onset peak age is between 51 to 80 years old. The incidence rate of ischemia stroke is higherthan that of hemorrhagic stroke.2. Comparing the ischemia stroke and hemorrhagic stroke: The study showed that male patients are more than female patients both in the ischemia stroke group and the hemorrhagic stroke group.;occurring age: Most ischemia stroke patients are between 71-80 years old, however, hemorrhagic stroke patients are between 51-60 years old, and always have remote causes. Both have heavy taste for food and hypertension in previous medical diseases, however, both have not evident similarity diseases in family medical history.3. The stroke patients have diversified unhealthy lifestyles before stroke, such as smoking, drinking, salty taste and overeating rich food, eating few vegetables and fruits, lack exercises, and fussy characters, etc. Most patients have two or more unhealthy lifestyles.4. Before falling ill, patients have many clinical manifestations, such as headache, dizziness, sudden fainting, numbness of skin and limbs, wry mouth and eyes, stiff tongue with poor speech, flaccid paralytic limbs, fatigue, tremor of hands, anesthesia, deglutition impeditive, unsteadiness, speak unclear, ear noises. Many patients have two or more different symptoms.5. Stroke liability group always has the following characters: Male, 51-80 years old, previous hypertension, heavy taste for food and fluctuating emotion, and the clinical symptom is always limbs debilitation.
