Objectives: To study the effect and correlation of Xinzhi Bimin capsule on expression of Substance P and Histamine in the spleen of experimental allergic rhinitis(AR) in rat, and identify the mechanism of pharmacodynamic action. Methods: The expression of positive cell of Substance P was detected in semiquantity by immunochemistry and the expression of Histamine was detected in quantity by high-efficient liquid, which were compared with the different model rat established in AR and the normal control group. Results: The behavior science score of model group (7.4±0.97)was higer the experimental group (1.3±0.48), positive control group (2.9±0.56)and normal control group (0.8±0.63) (P<0.01). The expression of the proportion of positive cell to Substance P and Histamine were lower in the experimental group than the model group (p<0.05) and the positive control group except the normal control group. Conclusions: The result suggests that the Xinzhi Bimin capsule can reduce the infiltration of EOS and treat the symptom of AR in rat by down-regulating the activation of Substance P and Histamine.
