Objective Diabetic polyneuropathy is main syndrome of the diabetes. Physical therapy of DPN include laser and ultraviolet radiation. Based investigation, low nitric oxide and high oxygen free is important in the DPN mechanism of the diabetes. The intent of this study is the effects of 890nm infrared laser on serum concentrations of nitric oxide and oxygen free radical in patients with diabetic polyneuropathy (DPN).Methods Diabetes was diagnosed by 1997ADA Diabetic diagnoses standard, and diabetic polyneuropathy was diagnosed by MDNS. Then 42 patients with MDNS>2 were chose and were randomized into 2 groups: control group and treated group by 890nm infrared laser. Patients in control group (16patients) were treated by Jin Na Duo (gingko) for 10-14days (26patients), while those in treated group were treated by Jin Na Duo (gingko) and received 890nm infrared laser (Anodyne Therapy System, Professional System Model 480) treatment at the same time for 10 times (each lasting 45 minutes ) during a 2-week period, Serum...
