The theory of motivation factor and health protective factor is raised by American behavioral scientist Fredrick Herzberg, which is also called dual-factor theory. Health protective factor refers to those that can help to eliminate people's dissatisfaction in their work but would not result in active attitude; motivation factor refers to those that can produce active attitude, satisfaction and encouragement. The dual-factor theory is widely used by many enterprises and organizations to encourage their staff. In fact, many motivation factor and health protective factor exist in an enterprise or organization that is similar to an individual, and these factors play an important role in their survival and development. As a special organization, a hospital has something in common with an enterprise in its management, that is, dual-factor also exists in hospital management. Some of factors are basic and prerequisite, without these factors, the hospital will lose the condition and chance of survival, but that does not mean the hospital would be excellent with these factors, which is health protective factor. There are some other factors, which can be positively applied to make the hospital outstanding in the fierce market competition. Without them, the hospital is likely to develop slowly, even stagnate. With the theory, this paper aims at making an analysis on the relationship between the hospital core competence and common ability, basic management and strategic management, medical quality and hospital marketing, hospital power influence and non-power influence, equipment construction and hospital culture construction etc. and throwing light on the inner relation between these managing problems, thus provide strategic reference for the government and hospital leadership so as to correct the incorrect thought appeared in the course of hospital reform and development.
