Background and Purpose:With the penetration of medical system reform and the opening-up of medical service market, the hospital will be put into a more complex and ever-changing economic, social, political, scientific, legal and even ethical environment, the hospital's former experience management model is no longer adapted to the current fast-changing situation. To make the hospital survive and develop, we must comprehensively and clearly understand and grasp its own superiorities and inferiorities, its opportunities and challenges, and use the thought of strategic management to manage and operate the hospital. Therefore, The SCCH Hospital's most urgent problem to be resolved is how to design, select, and implement the proper competition and development strategies to win the competitive advantage and gain the development of long-term good development.Content:First of all, the conception and Connotation of the strategy and the strategic management, and the development and characteristics of hospital strategic management are elaborated. Second, the external environment of the SCCH hospital, including policy, social-culture, economy and technological environment is analyzed. We thoroughly analyzed the competition environment of hospitals though Porter's five forces model, which includes existing competitors-major competitors, potential entrants, the medical service replace organizations, medical service consumers and the suppliers' bargaining capability, we also use SWOT analysis method to analyze and strategically match the opportunity, threat, strength, and weakness of the SCCH hospital. On this basis, together with the SCCH hospital tenet and development goal we choose the strategy that is good for the hospital's competition and development, and suggest the matching measures with operationally during the strategic implementation. Conclusion:The SCCH Hospital's current experience management model is not adapted to the changing of environment, we should use the thought of strategic management to manage and operate the hospital. The hospitals have obvious advantage in special brand, tumor academic discipline construction, tumor academic discipline kinds, medical treatment level, intelligences of oncology, the resource of radiotherapy equipment, location and so on. But its popularity, marketing and market concept, medical service and anti-risk capacity are in inferior position. Therefore, the organic combination with differentiation and cost leadership strategy should be used as the SCCH hospital's competition and development strategy. During the strategic implementation, we should pay attention to the reform, adjustment and construction of the hospital's organization structure, marketing model, human resource management, hospital culture and so on.Innovations:In the paper five forces model, SWOT matrix, and the theory and approach of strategic management are combined with the true situation of medical and health institution. We thoroughly consider and discuss the SCCH hospital's competition and development strategy under current situation. Our conclusion shows the scientific property and practicality, and has positive, important practical significance and reference value for the SCCH hospital's future development and other similar hospitals.
