Objective: To study the relationship of ureaplasma urealyticum (UU) infection and age , history of pregnancy, intrauterine device (IUD), cervicitis, vaginitis. Methods: 109 gynecologic cases were collected from our nomal gynecologic clinic. Swabs taken from cervix were cultured by commercial UU selective liquid medium. The discharge from vagina was tested to find vaginitis. Result: The positive rate of UU had no relationship with age, history of pregnancy, IUD , cervicitis, vaginitis (P>0.05) . The positive rate of UU in study group (cervicitis and vaginitis) was higher than that in control group (normal group)(P<0.05) . Conclusion: The cervical infection of UU is relatively high in normal population, which means that simple finding of UU in cervix has not pathogenicity.
