The investigation observed 12 cases of cluster headache in applying diagnostic criteria for cluster headache by Headache Classification and Committee of the International Headache Society and Tong Feng of curative effect assessment criterion discussed and instituted by The National Encephalopathy Club of The Traditional Chinese Medicine Manage Department (July, 1992) in order that we think the traditional Chinese pathogenesis of the disease is that "stagnation of Liver-qi , deficiency of Spleen and inner noxious dampness "following foul functional activities of Qi ascendingly along with Liver and Gallbladder meridian to head and face parts,which leads to Liver and Gallbladder meridian intensely and acute headache caused by feeling and external factors via clinic research. Advancing the treatment principle is removing wind,notify net,dissolving damp-pathogen and detoxificating noxious for the first time. Methods:By acupuncturing and indirect garlic moxibustion,the curative effects of the treatment style are observed in the whole process of treating on 12 cases of cluster headache patients in the clinic. Conclusion:The investigation prompts the treatment of the disease by acupuncturing and indirect garlic moxibustion.Effects are preferably remarkable.lt is free of side effects and deserved to be applied and popularized.
