Highflow Oxygen Therapy Of Cluster Headache

Cluster headache is one of the severest headache in primary headache.It’s treatment consists of acute intervention and prophylaxis.First line of acute treatment including oxygen and and injectable triptans.Because of fast-acting, easily accessible, low side effect and no daily maximal usages, oxygen is used widely in clinic with efficacy ranges 50～78%. Possible mechanism is that oxygen acts specifcally on the parasympathetic/facial nerve projections to the cranial vasculature to inhibit both evoked trigeminovascular activation and activation of the autonomic pathway during cluster headache attacks.
