The severe acute pancreatitis is a potential deathful disease, which has a high mortality rate. Nutrition supports are very important for SAP therapy. Objective: to explore effect of different nutrition supports on SAP, to supply evidence for SAP nutrition supports. Methods: use two-step methods to establish SAP models in dogs, then we supply PN,EEN or EIN nutrition supports for 7d. Amylase in serum and pancreas fluid, serum LPS, D- lactic acid levels and liver function were measured. Killing dogs after 7 days, the change of histo-morphology of pancreas tissue and livers tissue were observed. Tissue from MLN, liver and pancreas were removed, weighted and homogenized in grinting tubes. Aliquots of the homogenate and ascites were cultured to learn about bacterial translocation. Results: survival rate was 83.3%, Total pancreatic fluid volume decreased significantly, Three kinds of nutrition supports had no significant differences on total pancreatic fluid volume. Every index of EIN group was better than EEN and PN group. Conclusions: EIN is an effective ways for SAP nutrition supports, can reduce bacteria translocation, maintain intestinal mucosal barrier and alleviate Liver injury in SAP.
